Going Elephanta caves by ship

 Arabian Sea

In 2022, I had the amazing experience of visiting the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site near Mumbai. To reach there, I boarded a ferry from the Gateway of India, and it took me across the Arabian Sea, covering around 15 km of distance.

The journey itself was mesmerizing — standing on the deck of the boat, enjoying the cool sea breeze, and watching the endless waters stretch out in front of me. After about an hour’s ride, the ferry finally brought me to the historic Elephanta Island, home to ancient caves carved with incredible sculptures and stories from Indian mythology.

It was not just a trip, but a memorable journey through history, culture, and nature.
